The Great State Fair of Oklahoma - 2011

Last weekend Jon, Riley and I headed out to the State Fair of Oklahoma. This is the third year I've taken Riley, and he just loves it! I managed to get a few pictures of our mini-adventure, so I wanted to share with you here on the blog. Jon and I had hoped to let Riley go on some of the kiddie-rides this year, but on this particular day Riley was just too cranky, so we decided not to put him on any rides...But, we still had a lot of fun out at the fair...

Our first stop, once we entered the fair, was the "Car Barn", where we looked at several different trucks (Riley's favorite)...

Mr. Handsome enjoyed looking at all the new trucks...

When it was time to try some totally-bad-for-you-but-absolutely-delicious fair food, Riley got to try a bounty of eats. He had some bites of an Italian sausage sandwich, a few nibbles from my corn on the cob, and his favorite: Fried Cheese Nuggets with jalapeno ranch dipping sauce...

Next, we headed to "Agtropolis", which is an exicting indoor exhibit for kids that showcases real Oklahoma Livestock. This was definitely the highlight of Riley's time spent at the fair. Jon held little Riley up, so he could see all of the new little baby chicks that had been born that morning...

Riley spent a lot of time checking out the cow...he seemed most fascinated by the cow of all the animals we saw...

Ha...The picture below was taken near the goat/sheep exhibit...where we witnessed one of the goats dropping a lovely little present on the floor. Riley kept saying "UCKY!" (a.k.a. Yucky)...and it was indeed...

Riley really liked the chickens and rooster...he kept asking me to open their cage...

We also got to see a couple of adorable baby pigs...

Like Father...Like Son...

I tried to take a picture of Riley in a little nature area...but he was mad that we had left "Agtropolis"...

Inside the "Made In Oklahoma" Building, we saw some pretty awesome cakes! This haunted house, and replica of Oklahoma City were awesome...

After we toured four buildings, we had a very cranky toddler in need of a nap! So, we packed up, grabbed a caramel apple on our way out, and drove home. Maybe next year we can take the little guy on some kiddie rides...I know he would have loved them!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Boomer Sooner!!
