My 25th Birthday....and Mother's Day

In celebration of me turning a quarter-of-a-century old, Jon, Riley, Daisy and I packed up and headed to Tulsa for some fun with family and friends. We enjoyed a nice, but too short visit which consisted of a joint birthday dinner for myself and my friend Leslie at "El Guapo". It was nice of my mom to babysit the little guy, while Jon and I went out. We had so much fun, and I'm glad I got to spend my birthday with such great friends!

Mother's Day was more relaxed. My mom, Jon, Riley and I went to lunch at "Red Lobster"...it was delicious as always! Once we got back to Norman, I was given a card that the daycare teacher Riley had made for me. It was adorable with his little hand print in it. It made me tear up. My little man is growing up so fast! I loved that this was my very first Mother's Day....and that I got to spend it with my mother too.

Later that Sunday, Jon and I took Ry to the park in our neighborhood for some playtime. The pictures say it all!
This last one is my favorite...they were having a "guy talk" moment. So precious! They look just alike!

Riley Blaine - Nine Months

05-01-10

Height: 29"
Weight: 20 lbs, 5 oz.

Jon and I cannot believe how fast our little boy is growing up! He is such a joy to be around, and lets us sleep in on the weekends. Lately, Riley has been moving all around in his crib. We had to lower his mattress, as he has figured out how to pull himself up and look over the rails. The boy is so darn adventurous and curious about everything! There isn't anything he doesn't get into these days. Riley's eating habits have changed a bit, in that he may now eat foods that are more of a solid substance. He loves Cheerio's, Mac N' Cheese, Green Beans, and Pureed Baby Meats (They must taste better than they smell). This month, Riley discovered how to crawl...which was absolutely precious!
Jon and I both felt so much excitement for our thriving baby boy.

Riley also said his first word (outside of DADA and MAMA)...he said "Daisy", which of course is the name of our dog.
He has the cutest little voice. We just love his personality, and how outgoing he is....we love him with all of our hearts!

Here are a few more videos from a few months back...
