Wannabe Athletes Convention...Otherwise Known As Fantasy Football Draft Weekend

(picture via Google...not my hubby & his friends)

It's that time of year again...time for my husband and his friends to gather for their annual Fantasy Football Draft Weekend. Riley and I will be spending most of our time with family and friends...because no wives are allowed at the draft (Darn!). We are all going out as a group Saturday night, and I can't wait to see friends and family that I haven't seen in months! Oh, and before I end this post, just a friendly reminder that OU Football starts in one week!!!

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

End Of Summer...

As this terrible, record-breakingly-hot, summer comes to an end, I can't help but think how nice it's going to be when temperatures are a comfortable 60 degrees again.

The past several weekends, my dad has joined Riley, Jon and I in some outdoor water activities. We've gone to the splash pad and swimming pool as a way to beat the heat. Riley really enjoys the splash pad, and he loved going to play in the park with his Grandpa...

We've taken Riley to the YMCA pool last year, but I think he enjoyed the outdoor public pool much more. We definitely need to get him into swimming lessons next year, because he really likes being in the water...

Riley is learning so much everyday, and I can't believe how fast he's growing up. He sits at the table like a big boy...

He also has a new pastime of coloring...

He's still obsessed with Sesame Street...and calls Elmo on his toy phone constantly...

Never a dull moment when you've got a rambunctious toddler running around. One thing's for sure, I can't wait for cooler temperatures...Bring on Fall!

Our Honeymoon!

I was browsing some of my old posts on this blog, and I realized...I never shared my honeymoon pictures! Unfortunately, our (then) camera broke the night before we headed to Vegas, so all the pictures I have are with my IPhone. You know what they say, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Needless to say, we had an awesome time, and got to do so many fun and relaxing things. I wanted to share a few with you...In no particular order...

We stayed at the ARIA, which is absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks to a certain persuasive blonde, we were able to slip the check-in desk worker $25 bucks, which upgraded us from a deluxe room to a corner suite!! It was like an apartment...so beautiful and spacious. One Bedroom, two bathrooms, dining area, living room and kitchenette.

Jon and I saw two shows: The Beatles Love Cirque Du Soleil, and The Holly Madison Peep-Show. We really enjoyed both shows, and recommend them!

We also ate some of the most wonderful food on our trip. Our favorites were: Olives @ Bellagio, Jean George Steakhouse @ Aria, Jean-Phillipe Patisserie @ Aria, and The Pub @ Monte Carlo. Below, you'll see a picture of the best onion rings on the planet...

It seemed like everywhere we went, nearly every bar and restaurant had the same house drink...The Bloody Mary. They like to make them super spicy with hot peppers...My favorite was at Olives inside the Bellagio. Jon and I sat on the patio overlooking the famous Bellagio Fountains...it was amazing!

To appease Jon, we spent one night at Club Haze @ The Aria. It was loud, hot, but we had a blast dancing the night away.

Before I sum this post up, I have to tell you about the most incredible spa that Jon and I went to. Hotel Aria sells wristbands for $30, which gives you one-day access to their spa. We relaxed on hot coals, swam in warm salt water pools, napped in a room made entirely of salt (helps to clear your sinuses), and steamed in the eucalyptus steam rooms. It was THE most relaxing thing I've ever done. We loved it so much we spent nearly an entire day there...and wished we had gone back for another day.

We are both SO appreciative to Jon's mother, who payed for our honeymoon!! Is if that in itself weren't absolutely amazing, she also watched Riley while we were gone and cleaned our house top to bottom! She is so generous, and we are so very grateful!

Riley's Two Year Pictures

Hello all! I recently had Riley's pictures taken and wanted to share a few of them with you here on the blog...

Isn't he a doll?! I can't believe how grown up he looks! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
