Hello Everyone! Sorry it's been awhile since my last post...I just haven't really had anything to report as of lately. However, Jon and I did go on a little mini-vacay this past weekend. We made the trip to Dallas with a couple of friends, so we could soak up the action of the OU/TX game. We did not go to the game...because tickets were outrageously overpriced...but we still partook in all the fun festivities that come along with the Red River Rivalry. We rode to Dallas with our friends: Ajay and Cass...being the only girl in the car for a three-hour road trip was pretty interesting...oh the things boys talk about! It was great to see Ajay, since he lives in Washington D.C....we hardly see him these days...
I drove...which was fine with me!
Jon did his best to put everyone in the mood for the rivalry weekend...
Once we crossed the border into Texas, we had to make a pit-stop, so the boys could buy some drinks for the weekend of fun...
We really enjoyed seeing all of the OU fans making the drive on I-35...This truck was the favorite...
Jon and I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott (which was just okay), but Ajay and Cass stayed in the very nice Marriott Renaissance Hotel (which is where we ending up spending most of our time)...
Dinner Friday Night consisted of delicious Cajun food at Pappadeaux
It wouldn't be a vacation without a kissy picture of the hubby and I...
The boys enjoyed their hotel, which happened to be where the OU football team stayed...
Gotta love Ajay's photography skills...
Once we had all digested dinner, we trekked over to the Hilton Anatole to see more friends we hadn't seen in awhile. Joe lives in California...so when he comes to town, we know we're in for a fun time!
We all headed to The West End (Downtown Dallas) for the pre-game traditional taunting between both sets of fans. We had a blast, and the pictures pretty much speak for themselves...
The next morning we peeled ourselves out of bed to head to Hooter's just in time to see OU stomp Texas! My good friend Leslie came too! We had a blast!!
After the game, we all went back to our respective hotels for a much needed nap...and set out again for a fun night, which included Mexican food for dinner, and meeting a pretty nice Texas fan.
Sunday was a day spent driving home...but it was nice to see the sweetest boy in the world (who stayed home with his Grandma Peggy). We had such a fun weekend, and can't wait to do it again next year. Boomer Sooner!! I thought I'd leave you with a couple of funny pictures I saw on Facebook from last week...
