Riley Blaine - Five Months

01-01-2010

Height: 27"
Weight: 17 lbs, 8 oz

What a busy month this has been for Riley! He has really started to use his voice. His favorite pastimes include: yelling, shreiking, chuckling, and gauging the volume of his voice. Jon and I introduced Riley to mixed fruit flavored rice cereal this month, which he took to immediately. Riley started to eat all of his meals in his big-boy high chair this month. He is growing so much each day, and Jon and I are realizing that our little baby is starting to become a little boy. The highlights of Riley's month were going to Tulsa for his G.G. Pat's 80th birthday, entertaining his cousin Caroline when she came for a visit, and getting to meet Jon's father and step-mother, Dennis and Marlene. Here are a few pictures from this month's events. Riley also discovered his favorite toy: Cookie Monster. (You may be able to spot him in a few of these photos)

Riley Blaine - Four Months (Part Two)

This month included so many special events, that I had to break it up into two parts. Jon, Riley and I visited the Chesapeake campus, and saw some beautiful Christmas lights. We had pictures taken of us for our Christmas Card. We had a lot of fun looking at the lights and strolling around the campus.

Riley experienced his first Christmas Holiday...in a blizzard! Yep, we got about 13 inches of the white stuff, and needless to say, we spent our holiday indoors. However, we didn't let the dramatic White Christmas bring us down. Riley cleaned up in the gifts department. Here's a little re-cap of his "big" presents: Grandma Honan got Riley a toy chest, Grandma Peggy gave him a walker, Grandpa Jeff gave him a set of Disney Books, Mommy and Daddy got him a bouncer, and Santa gave him a high chair! Riley is one lucky little man to have such wonderful and loving people in his life.

Overall, I'd say our first Family Christmas turned out pretty darn great! Here are a few final parting shots of our celebration:

Riley Blaine - Four Months (Part One)

12-01-2009

Height: 26"
Weight: 14lbs, 8oz

Mr. Riley Blaine is four months old....I can't believe it! His accomplishments this month include: rolling over, voice usage, interacting with toys and petting our puppy (Daisy). This month, Riley rolled over from his back to his stomach for the first time.....now he rolls around EVERYWHERE! It's funny, because now that he can roll, he prefers to sleep on his side, instead of his back. Riley has continued to sleep through the night from 8pm to 6:30am. He is eating more, and was introduced to rice cereal this month. He hated the cereal at first, but he is slowly getting used to it. Riley can also hold his own bottle! He is such a strong little guy, and NOTHING comes between him and his food. :) As a family, we made our typical monthly trip to Tulsa to see Grandma Peggy, Aunt Allie, and G.G. Pat. Actually, we made a few trips to Tulsa this month. First, Riley and I went to Tulsa/Owasso to meet the newest member of the family: Caroline Violet Miller. Riley loves his cousin, and I'm so proud to be an aunt to such a beautiful little niece!

Riley Blaine - Three Months

11-01-2009

Height: 24"
Weight: 13lbs, 2 oz

What a month! Riley has started to watch football with Daddy. GO SOONERS! Riley discovered how to grab/hold onto things this month. He continues to roll from his back to his side, and he has started cooing and baby talk. Riley started daycare this month, and is thriving! He really likes Ms. Debbie and Ms. Beth....and he has a little female playmate, who is one month older than him, whom he just adores. This was a fun month because Mommy, Daddy, Riley and Grandma Peggy all went to the pumpkin patch. We also made a trip to Tulsa to visit family and friends. It was so great to see Riley's Godparents (Kenny & Kellie). This month, Riley celebrated his first Halloween! He was dressed up as a tiger....and he helped Mommy hand out candy to all of the adorable little trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood. One very special memory of this month, was that Riley got to meet his Uncle Jordan for the first time! Uncle Jordan and Daddy went on a trip to Nebraska to see the Sooners play football. Unfortunately, we lost.....but I think the boys had fun anyway.

Riley Blaine - Two Months

10-01-2009

Height: 23 1/2"
Weight: 11 lbs, 8 oz

Riley is two months old and thriving! He discovered his voice this month...and loves making sounds. He makes noises that sound like the beginnings of laughing. He has grown so much since he was first born. He can hold his head up, and follow objects/people with his eyes. This month, he got to go to the State Fair of Oklahoma and Mommy's work in Downtown Oklahoma City. Perhaps the most special memory from Riley's second month, is that he got to meet Grandma Honan. She and her friend Terry came down to Oklahoma from New York to see the little guy! They stayed for about a week and a half, and we all had so much fun!

Riley Blaine - One Month

09-01-2009

Height: 22"
Weight: 9 lbs, 8 oz

Riley is one month old! He has started to smile and use his hands. He can roll from his back to his side, and recognizes Mommy and Daddy's voices. Riley is such a good boy....he sleeps through the night already! This month was special, because Riley got to go to Tulsa for the first time to see family! It was his first mini-road trip.
